I have always drawn and painted, but feel newly inspired by the vibrancy and sheer beauty of the Andalusian towns and countryside. Olvera is a precious jewel and simply has to be painted, by itself and in its magnificent setting. So I come here to try to do just that.

VIEW FROM CALLE CARNERO OF THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE EL GASTOR My first painting of Olvera – and the late afternoon sky really was that colour. The mountains are Malever to the left (1,122 metres) and Lagarin (1,057 metres). 122cm x 93cm. Acrylic, oil and emulsion on plywood. Personal collection.
