My small version of Nicolas Poussin’s 'THE DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF TIME' I attempted this after being stunned by the beauty of the restored original in London’s Wallace collection painted in 1640. Personal collection 38 cm x 28 cm Water mixable oil colour on paper.

My version of Nicolas Poussin’s 'LANDSCAPE WITH THE ASHES OF PHOCION COLLECTED BY HIS WIDOW' The Original was painted in 1648. Phocion, an Athenian general, was condemned to death and forced to drink hemlock. He was cremated outside the city walls. His wife is shown gathering his ashes for an honourable burial made possible by a change in the political climate. 75 cm x 55 cm Water mixable oil colour.

I have always drawn and painted, but feel newly inspired by the vibrancy and sheer beauty of the Andalusian towns and countryside. Olvera is a precious jewel and simply has to be painted, by itself and in its magnificent setting. So I come here to try to do just that.
